HR 867 IGO Anti-Boycott Act
This bill expands an existing anti-boycott law to include certain boycotts imposed by international governmental organizations (IGOs).
Current law prohibits various actions by U.S. persons (individuals or entities) in relation to boycotts imposed by foreign governments on a country which is friendly to the United States and that is not itself the object of a U.S. boycott. This bill applies those prohibitions to similar boycotts imposed by IGOs.
Prohibited actions include (1) refusing to do business with companies organized under the laws of the boycotted country, if the refusal is pursuant to an agreement with or request from the country or IGO imposing the boycott; (2) refusing to employ any U.S. person on the basis of race, religion, sex, or national origin; and (3) furnishing information about whether someone is associated with charitable or fraternal organizations that support the boycotted country.
The bill also requires the President to annually submit to Congress and make available to the public a report describing these boycotts and listing the foreign countries and international organizations involved in fostering or imposing them.
OK, so how’s this blatant sop to Congress’s Hebrew owners supposed to work?
They saying if I am the CEO of Explosive Widgets Inc., and I decide we will not sell our wonderful destructive products to Israel after determining Israel has been using them to blow up schools with kids in them, and hospitals with sick and injured people in them, the US government is gonna take action against me and my company?
Well, how about this? I am the CEO of Shady Grove Farm LLC, and because Jews mistreat chickens in some insane, barbaric religious ritual we will not sell our healthy, free range hens to Israel, or to Jews. Fuck that.
Turns out, Switzerland won’t sell chickens to Israel either, so that makes us complicit in a boycott.
So now what? The US Army gonna send in some armed troons to lay siege to my farm?
Not gonna lie friends. I am beginning to feel some real antisemitism boiling up in me. Fuck these people.

I already wrote Norman and let him know that I’ll be interpreting a “yay” from him as a declaration that he is more loyal to Israel than his AMERICAN constituents.
It does feel a bit like they’re trying to provoke us into antisemitism. Don’t take the bait, Team. This ain’t got nuthin to do with God or Jews. Zionism is a political ideology.
This is just the GOP knowingly provoking hatred to get money.
The neurotics paying them are too obsessed and aspy to realize the damage they’re doing.
The GOP is being cynical.
There’s no quicker way to get Americans to break a rule than to make a rule.
There’s no surer way to be despised and make enemies of neutrals or friends than to make up new intrusive rules.
